1 kg red cabbage
3 apples
2 onions
50g butter or margarine
˝ tsp mixed spice
2 bay leaves
salt
pepper
sugar
2 tbsp cider vinegar
2 tbsp cranberry sauce
125 ml water or red wine |

Discard outer leaves and core, wash and shred cabbage. Peel, core and dice apples. Dice onions. In large pot melt butter or margarine, sauté onions, add cabbage and apples, cook for 5 minutes, stirring often. Add remaining ingredients, cook slowly for 1 to 1˝ hours.
