German Plum Cake

400g flour
2 tsp baking powder
130g sugar
vanilla sugar
2 eggs
3 tbsp milk
200g butter
1kg blue European plums
1 tbsp sugar

Preheat oven to 220°C.
Mix flour and baking powder. Knead in sugar, vanilla sugar, eggs, milk and butter. Spread dough onto a baking tray. 
Wash, quarter and pit plums. Arrange plums on dough with cut side up.
Bake about 40 minutes in lower part of oven. Sprinkle with sugar when still hot.
