- control slugs and snails by squashing them at night
- sow climbing beans (end of month), beetroot (mid month), green sprouting broccoli, small savoy cabbages, small red cabbages, carrots (mid month), kohlrabi, leek, lettuce & Asian greens, mustard, brown onions, peas, radishes (mid month), silverbeet and spinach; plant pink eye potatoes; plant out spinach and green sprouting broccoli from greenhouse; feed beds lightly with complete organic fertilizer, horse manure or composted hay from chook-pens before sowing and planting 
- harvest: green sprouting broccoli, Brussels sprouts, large savoy cabbages, large red cabbages, Sugarloaf cabbages, carrots, cauliflower, celery, kale, leek, spring onions, lettuces & Asian greens, mustard, silverbeet, spinach, swede

- mulch under fruit trees and berries (berries with a mixture of manure and pine needles)
- spray apple trees with copper hydroxide to prevent black spot, mixed with pest oil as insecticide, early September and again 2 weeks later

- sow capsicum, celery, cucumber, eggplant, pumpkins, squash, sweetcorn, tomatoes and zucchini
