- slash green manure, apply horse manure and dig in
- sow broad beans, brown onions, salad onions and peas; plant potato onions and pink eye potatoes; plant out sugarloaf cabbages from greenhouse; feed beds lightly with complete organic fertilizer, horse manure or composted hay from chook-pens before sowing and planting 
- harvest: green sprouting broccoli, Brussels sprouts, large savoy cabbages, large red cabbages, celery, kale, leek, corn salad, lettuces & Asian greens, mustard, silverbeet, spinach, swede

- apply complete organic fertilizer to all fruit trees (including citrus) and berries
- continue winter-pruning all fruit trees (including citrus if necessary) 
- spray all stone fruit trees with copper hydroxide to prevent brown spot and leaf curl
- spray all pear trees and early fruiting apple trees with copper hydroxide to prevent black spot (end of August)
