January 2007: a walk around the
house
Early January has brought a lot of rain and the
winter creek is running |
The chestnut tree on the left is growing well. A
possum tried to climb up the one on the right and broke off the
branches.
The olives have grown well. |
More fencing:
After the "possum attack" on the chestnut tree we put up
floppy wire fences around the chestnuts and walnuts. The "olive
grove" is electrically fenced so that hungry horses won't feed on the
olives. |
The crab apples and natives still have no other
protection against possums and wallabies than the grow
tubes. |
