Lettuces and
Asian Greens:
Sow September to
March in garden beds, also April and August in greenhouse, harvest all year by
picking individual leaves or harvesting whole lettuces
Varieties used:
Mostly mixtures
containing green and purple lettuces and Asian greens, e.g. cos, mignonette,
frilled, speckled, buttercrunch, tree, rocket, tatsoi, mizuna, radicchio,
rabbit ear
Sow directly,
wherever there is space in the beds, thin out after germination to 15cm between
plants.
Corn Salad:
Sow March to April,
harvest May to August
Sow directly,
wherever there is space after main harvest
Mustards:
Sow September to
April, harvest all year by picking individual leaves or flowers for salads
Grow individual
mustard plant throughout gardens as insectary plants, harvest individual leaves
for salads
