Celery

Companion planting:
Likes: tomatoes, bush beans, cabbages, cauliflower, dill, leek, marjoram, peas
Dislikes: parsnip, potato

Sow October to December, harvest all year

Also sow indoors in September, transplant out after frost

Varieties used:
Tendercrisp
Tall Utah

We cut back those celery stalks that are in seed and use the others throughout the year. This way celery can be used all year and for more than one year. We found celery very easy to grow and very hardy.

Seeds are slow to germinate, may take 2-3 weeks.

Sow several seeds in clumps 70 cm apart, gradually thin out. Celery needs heavy liming, fertilizing and watering. Sow celery in non-rotation beds
